So the news media takes an out of context comment on passing speedtraps, obviously on roadways, in a train and most likely a high speed train. Noting the emotive use of the word speeding: What has that got to do with it? He may well have been travelling at the authorised speed limit on the railway but not that of the highway. Since when do policemen radar check train speed?
The wisdom of posting such a comment, well I certainly wouldn't.
If the other reports of telephoning in the issue of going too fast into the curve are correct, Who uses a telephone in that situation, an emergency transmit on the radio would be used. Then it seems to me that the drivers could not get the train to slow down. A brake application may not have been able to overcome a continous power application if the control system malfunctioned, remember this is high amperage overhead not some 1950's main generator on a GP-9.
The news media will have a field day over this.
