You do hear talk on the radio about crews getting shuttled between Yardley and Hauser, but it appears the majority of those boarding at Hauser go on duty at Hauser. Plenty of Washington plates (as well as Idaho plates) on the employee vehicles in the Hauser parking lot. Plus, you have a lot of MRL crews and BNSF away terminal crews who are driven in and out of Hauser. The once-sleepy Templin's Red Lion resort on the south side of Post Falls, right on the Spokane River, is where a lot of the away-from-home crews rest. BNSF and private crew shuttle vans and SUVs are constantly driving between Hauser and Post Falls. Usually see one stopped at my local grocery store; railroaders gotta eat, too. Aside from the aquifer concerns, Hauser has helped pump a lot of money into the local economy. Gas, food, lodging, etc.
