My original reason for posting the picture was to ask some questions, but I was interrupted first by the misfire on the picture, and then by dinner. I wonder what the chances are of this sort of trip happening again. I know the engine needs expensive repairs, as in a new firebox or some such. And apparently the old SD&AE route to the Imperial Valley may actually see trains again as industry expands in northern Baja. Have no idea how the museum is doing, and how it gets along with the new railway that hopes to haul freight soon. The 2353 seems to be one of the few small SP freight engines to have seen service post SP....the 1744 and 3420 come to mind, are there others? A lot of engines were stuffed and mounted.
