John, of the Pacific Lines steam locomoitves saved, there were two of the larger 4-6-0s (2353 & 2355) and two of the older ones that served as fire engines (2248 and 2252 IIRC). Also the one at Los Mochis, Mexico. There were no Mikes or Decks saved. However, 3 Pacifics,
about a dozen 0-6-0s, maybe 8 Consolidations including 3420, the one 4-8-0 in Bakersfield
are still around. Include one GS-4 (4449) and one GS-6 (4460), the one 4-10-2 5021), 8 or so
Moguls, and 4294, the last AC built. I left out any of the ng and might have omitted one or
two others. Apologise if I did.
I have long felt it a shame that instead of a Mogul sitting on display in Dunsmuir were they
were not really used much, that the SP didn't put 3295 on display instead. She was the former
Minarets & Western MK-10 that worked the Dunsmuir yard for years.
Strapac & Dieberts book was used to help my spotty memory on the above.
