Some of the subtle differences between these two locos are interesting. 2891 does not rev up when you first go into dynamic braking. 8702 does. On 2891 you just hear the traction motor gearing "growling" and it sounds just like a Milwaukee Little Joe electric to me! At higher dynamic braking levels the fans sing quite loud.

My dad always loved the sound of the dynamics on NP's F7's as they descended Sunshine hill into Pullman WA with the "highball" freight on NP's P&L branch. He would get a kick out of these Tunnel Motors.
