While these roots blown units would be nice, they currently cost quite a bit more than a good SD40-2. The old supply/demand rule.

We originally had 3 SD45s, not dash 2, all are gone now. They were good pullers but the SD40-2 is just as good and the fuel consumption of the 40 is significantly less. Unfortunately when the 45 derates itself to 3000 hp it doesn't also derate the fuel consumption.
