Very interesting. I have run 3 others at various times (8702, 3000, 3001) and all of them rev instantly when going into dynamic. Apparently 2891 is the only one that has this "two speed" option.

Here is a picture of the 3000 and 3001. They are ex UP early SD40-2 that spent some time on the Utah Southern. Both are good units. Right now we are using the 3001 while the 3000 is having some work done on it at the POVA shop in Usk WA
