Re: 1174 and 1179...from time to time in connection with my McCloud research I've run across a few references to a Mt. Shasta switcher job. I wonder if that's what they were doing there?

Also, about 1953ish the McCloud River Lumber Company took a serious look at the #3295, along with some of the Long-Bell locomotives in Tennant, with an eye towards purchasing them as replacement power for the locomotives the company then leased from the McCloud River Railroad. However, the railroad wanted to rid itself of the steam shop facilities, prompting the lumber company to buy its GE diesel in 1955.
