On the contrary; the DDA40X nose (as well as the similar F45, FP45, and SDP40F noses) contained much larger and beefier collision posts than "standard nose" units. This was partly because there was much more room in these noses, and partly because these cabs, collectively, were the first significant advances in efforts to create great crew protection.
