Went into the Salinas OSH today to buy roses and poppies to plant now that the fence is in and the f-ing deer are out----------and I asked the customer service person about the status of the calendars which if you recall, were only to be given out one at a time with a coupon before Dec. 14 and then sold for $20 after that.
Seems as if while they are not out obviously on the counters, they are very much in supply for the asking and free on today, the 28th-------when I asked my question the checker immediately reached for one under the counter and said "how many do you want?" and when I asked, they apparently have never sold any of them and have always given them free this month. The people we have talked to at the San Jose, Gilroy and now Salinas stores fully believe that Lowe's will let them retain their own identity and exist even where their stores are close by-------------so maybe the train calendar tradition will remain----------we can only hope--happy new year to all!!
