Lowe's has recently closed several " under - performing " stores here in Puget Sound, after spending 15 years ( and large $$$ ) buying the Eagle Hardware chain AND building new stores to compete with Home Cheapo. Meanwhile, McLendon Hardware ( World Headquarters for wierd & old stuff ), has just opened a new store in Tacoma, giving them 7 stores in the Seattle area.
