YW #19 is truly in limbo, and its valid ownership may never be resolved. It is an engine without a country, the YW has imploded and no longer has the ability to support a tourist operation without a substantial reinvestment.

Sumpter Valley #19 on the other hand returned to service in December, is scheduled for a sold out private photo charter next month, and will become the regular engine next summer as #3 will be going down for its FRA boiler re-certification. And it is paid for.

Had YW #19 moved to the Wallowa-Union, the two engines would have been about 100 miles apart. But then again, the whole YW/WURR thing turned out to be nothing more than a slick presentation.
