I have a diesel preservation challenge for the learned crew at Altamont:

How many Alco PA's and FA's" are still out there?

Preserved and/or working?

And, where are they?

As an old San Diegan rider, and someone who still has my AT&SF PA builders plate, for locomotive # 76545, built in November 1948, still with original silver paint, it would be interesting to find out how many are left, and where they are.

Also, as I am getting dim, as some have also remarked on this blog, I would like to know the original AT&SF engine number, or a source for that serial number and the engine, as I can't remember the number this came from (I had thought it was a seventy something "c"), and never wrote it down way back when........?
