It was a B unit, not a cab, thanks....

The numbering on these were in sets of multiple units was a little weird, with the designation of a "61 C" being the last cab unit in a set. This was a legacy of the original number of the FT's which were originally delivered as semi-permanently "drawbar" connected sets of 4. Thus, in the early Alco's too, it would have been 61-61A-61B-61C- in what would normally be an Alco PA "ABBA" delivered consist configuration.

Thanks to all, I knew the Altamont crew would have the answers. and special thanks to OPRRMS for the id on the builders plate.

Thanks to CQP for driving on that road trip, on which we "acquired" the builders plates......what a long strange trip it's been.

Thanks.

Bob2
