The latest Classic Trains has an article about chasing FA's in the 60's. At the end of the article it has a short update on "Survivors". There are at least 9 FA's that came via the Long Island RR where they had been converted to cab cars (engines removed). These are all in museums.

There are "more than a dozen" FPA4's from VIA Rail Canada that have operated at tourist railroads and museums including at Cuyahoga Valley Scenic in Ohio, Grand Canyon Railway, Napa Valley Wine Train and New York & Lake Erie. There are at least seven others in museums in the US and Canada. So that gives at least 28 of the FA style units.
