The P&L is a line crying to be run at higher speeds (if it had better ties). The 1-degree curve that the new McCoy elevator lead turnout was dropped into had over 3 inches of superelevation which had to be transitioned out. I have seen photos of some nice WSU Football Special passenger trains back in NP days that probably rolled along at some nice speeds at that time.
