I agree with all of the positive comments on the 1500's. When we took over the EsPee Molalla Branch in 1993 our SW-8 wasn't ready yet so they loaned us the 2608 (I think) for a couple of weeks. We soon became quite fond of the smooth ride from the Flexicoil trucks and their prompt acceleration when switching cars.

My only complaint was the deck was higher than on our other EMD switchers and the stairs were a @#$%& to negotiate without feeling like you were climbing a tree! In-cab ergonomics were top shelf and the electric heaters REALLY worked!
