Mr. Root makes reference to the City of Prineville and Port of Tillamook Bay receiving hefty sums of money from the state of Oregon for their rehab projects; Mr. Immel mentions the need for all taxes and fees to be current to qualify for these programs.

It's interesting that NEITHER the City of Prineville or the POTB pay ANY property taxes, being publicly owned. Might this not stack the deck against those shortlines that have to pay property taxes, maintenance expenses and interest on money borrowed to keep their track in shape.

Personally, I'll stick with my banker as a business partner!!
