For sure the Oregon Rail Heritage Center and Vancouver's Amtrak station. The Vancouver station has a nice new SP&S exhibit inside. Visit the Pearson Air Museum if you want to see an excellent model of the Spruce Division Vancouver mill site.
Lunch at Multnomah Falls (arrive early as parking gets jammed), ask for a window seat so you can watch trains...or the Baldwin Saloon in The Dalles is also trackside.
If time, ride the Mount Hood Railroad out of Hood River to Parkdale....an Iowa Pacific operation.
At the ORHC we will have our new history of Portland's MAX system exhibit open and our Brooklyn Rail Yard exhibit either boxed or moved. The 4449 will be getting close to finishing it's 15-year inspection.
Ride MAX to the ORegon Zoo, also worth a visit. And, enjoy some of our great local brews...we have some great beers.
Do some shopping, we don't have a retail sales tax and do not pump our own gas. Arlen
