Yes, a great train viewing area. And the bridge itself is quite unique as it is the only one in the world with this type of double lift; the bottom operates independently of the top depending on size of ship. These days the top is lifted only for tall ships during the Rose Festival. If you are in to bridges, purchase our Steel Over the Willamette book available from the Trackside Café at Union Station, Oregon Maritime Museum or Oregon Rail Heritage Center; Powell's Books on Burnside may also still have a couple for sale. Not a large book but also not a large price. The bottom ped walkway is pretty neat and most bikers take it easy on this section of the trail.
