James the whistlepost was located on the NWP San Rafael Branch at Gallinas station, right next to what used to be the juvenile hall. There is also a concrete whistlepost at the Northwester PAcific Railroad Museum in Tiburon which was saved from a crossing in Tiburon by a resident and later donated to the museum.
The NWP Museum in Tiburon also has the markers with the number and a letter beneath it. I think they have three of them.
John Sweester contends there were no concrete markers like this used. However, the fact that these were donated by locals suggests the opposite. Hence the controversay.
