I agree with Clinton. As soon as you said "NWP", the first thing that went through my mind was "that's not SP". NWP was originally built as an electric railroad, similar to the Sacramento Northern. Although it may have been financed by the SP, it was not built as an SP line, nor was it built to SP standards.

I have a few books on the NWP. Let me see what, if anything, I can find out for you.
