Agreed. Our country spent over a billion dollars a day at one point during the war in Iraq and not a one of those "conservative" talking heads complained one bit (despite the fact that we were accomplishing nothing, other than to kill and maim far too many of our men and women in uniform), but Amtrak (whose yearly budget is far smaller than many state budgets) is a "waste of taxpayer dollars". Then again, most of those "liberal" and "conservative" talking heads are just as out of touch with reality as the idiot politicians and bureaucrats inside the Beltway (and have been for years), so that isn't a surprise. Unfortunate, yes; surprising, no.
