Reason cites Kopp as disavowing project....... Wow, can you say hypocritical gainsay....?

I've been quoted by Bob Poole in Reason, too. And you should have heard the crap I got from some of my enviro pals.....that's the problem sometimes when you tell truth that folks don't want to hear it. Hell, I've even spoken at their conferences (all I spoke at were sponsored by Mobil back then...), but only as an invited "expert" speaker on transportation systems, not as a true believer in the sophomoric simplistic amoral atheistic "teachings" of Ayn Rand.

This article is pretty straight forward and factual, but as the old saying goes, even a broke clock is right twice a day....

As dysfunctional governance goes, the CHSRA is truly pretty easy pickings when it comes under any kind of close scrutiny, but, a usual, this is just another example of our gainsay politics, offering no real reforms or alternatives, since any actions of any and all forms of democratic government is held to be inherently evil, by Randian doctrine, and thus, contrary to their views.

CHSRA a mess, but these folks don't seek to fix it, or even stop it really, because it is such a great target to use in order to rally "their" "masses" for "their" coming revolution....

Meanwhile, while we wait for the Reason Foundations "invisible hand" in the libertarian revolution to come, which quite specifically calls for the "market" to force "excess" users off of the roads to reduce congestion by charging variable fee's for driving on your taxpayer funded roads, after they are "privatized" (by creating an inherently monopolistic, but "privately owned" road), we should do nothing, right?

So what do we do about the horrific costs and inconvenience of our current and future worsening congestion? For those of us who actually like trains, and have observed that they can play a positive role in facilitating human mobility, what kind of rail system and components do make sense? How can the various modes best meet our real travel needs, or those of our children and grandchildren? And, how will changes in the next twenty years in technology, particularly driverless vehicles, affect how we will provide and consume transportation and the mobility if provides?

Unfortunately, these are questions that most of these didactic 19th and 20th century ideologues on the left and the right, and the politicians they seem to represent (who claim to represent us?), don't seem to be asking at all........

Pogo was right, we have met the enemy and he is us.....
