Seems to me that UP would be glad if Amtrak ran over the Siskiyou line and off the Cascade route. It would be a big section of railroad where they didn't have to deal with them. Let CORP work around the passenger trains.

But would Amtrak want that? There is a reason SP ran the Shasta Daylight and Cascade on the Cascade Route instead of the Siskiyou route. Higher speed and easier grades.

But if the state of Oregon wanted to run passenger trains over the line it seems like they should be able to do so. They were the ones to foot the bill to reopen the line.
