OK, that other thread below ( [www.altamontpress.com] ) got me Googlefanning. Found stuff that leaves me wondering - what's going on (or went on) out there?

There's a spur just south of Cloverdale that runs into a little field. There's clearly a (empty) hopper car stashed in there. How long has it been there?

The Asti Winery (old Italian Swiss Colony, it looks like) has a spur. It apparently holds a couple of what looks like long boxcars or centerbeams - rusty but complete. Again, did they get stranded when FRA shut down the previous incarnation of NWP rather abruptly or has there been more recent activity of a minor sort?

Google shows a turntable still in place near the Healdsburg station. Is that for real?

The old Basalt Rock place (now "Syan") once had many loading tracks. Now none, but there's the remains of a spur off a long siding that IIRC once held a lot of hopper cars and gondolas.

There's a junkyard south of Healdsburg, toward the back of a property labeled "Central Valley" in Google, that seems to have a passenger car on a buried spur, surrounded by old truck trailers or the like.

There's a spur to the back of what looks like a school bus yard in Windsor - or did it originally extend into the junk yard next door?

What was once on the property across the railroad from what's now the "Windsor Park" apartments? There's a vestige of a spur and a siding with quite wide spacing between the tracks.

Just south of Shiloh Road (is that the end of the NWP-operated track now?), there's a "All Around Auto Repair" with a short spur occupied by what's clearly an old passenger car. ???

Yes, Shiloh must be the current end of the line. Just south of that other place I see the long spur into the old Standard Structures property; while Google doesn't show any cars actually on the track, it's obviously been used based on it not being horribly unobstructed by stuff.

At that point, it becomes obvious how old the Google pics are. The Airport station is still bare forms with a still-under construction gantlet track, and from there to Fulton there are no visible tracks. I'm pretty sure all that work is done by now. Google needs another satellite pass.
