And all for a commuter line that starts nowhere and ends nowhere. Without a direct all-rail connection to San Francisco proper, I can't see this being a very SMART transit alternative from a fare structure and timing standpoint. What Sonoma County commuter wants to take a train to Larkspur, a ferry to the Ferry Building, and possibly another mode of transport (MUNI metro and bus or BART) to their ultimate destination? So much for a one-seat ride between Santa Rosa and San Francisco! I guess that luxury comes only for BART riders in the East Bay.
