I am so glad all of you naysayers weren't around to kill the Transcontinental RR project a century and change ago. While in unadjusted $$ I am sure this one will be more corrupt, and like BART, poorly designed, there will likely be fewer deaths among the workers (do we even know how many Chinese died building the CP?), and it will improve travel options--not as much as it would if the French just walked in and did it, but enough.
