SN 712 shouldn't be such a BIG deal to restore to operating condition. Being it's a GP-7 most likely has a "B" engine and 62/15 gearing...any traction motor from a D27 on up should work just fine. Cancer on a locomotive is curable. Most likely 6 or 24 air which is readily available nd there are sources for "B" power assemblies from most of the used loci dealers...Western Rail for one.

Don't cast it off like that Caddie!
