All the money spent on the "bullet train" could be better spent on (not limited to) the following:

* The West Santa Ana Branch corridor through Southeast LA County
* Rehabbing BART
* Grade separations statewide
* Capacity improvements on the BNSF Central Valley line and UP Beaumont Hill (which could indirectly lead to better Amtrak service)

What other bullet points am I missing?
