Hi Everybody--
Not to change the subject or the general chit-chat about flooding streams and rail, et al---
but here is a Train Simulator I ran across that puts you in the drivers seat of Sacramento Northern interurban train # 10, which you take from the Transbay Terminal in San Francisco all the way to the ferry slip at MALLARD, near Pittsburg, CA.
It is extremely detailed and accurate, and kind of cool to sit back in the motorman's chair and imagine just how it was between January 15, 1939 and July 12, 1941.
I'm trying to think, WHO) designed this fun thing.. It had to be a top whizkid in the Silicon Valley. Surely, it must have been. There are "other' SN simulators that are similar. But we'll stick with this one for now, guided by Wayside signals, GRS Coded Cab Signals, and a host of a lot of other goodies.
If you are tired with all the crazy stuff on A-P lately, take a break and take a ride on this SN electric train. It is a true adventure overall !!
