Thanks guys.

There used to be (at least from the early '80's up to the new western span construction)something that looked like a platform on the south side of the bridge's lower deck, just east of the center bore opening. It was also offset a bit, as if there had been a siding. Perhaps done to allow the track alignment necessary for a center platform.

I've become a great fan of the SN & Key System, but only since moving from San Jose (where I grew up with the SP Commutes!) to Oakland (within yards of an old Key System right-of-way)in the early 1980's.
