Wow, that is turning into a mess, Howard. For those of us not in the direct area, what traffic is there to warrant clearing these downed trees and slides? From what I understand from your informative posts and photos (and thank you for making them!), this section of track would only host whatever passenger excursions Iowa Pacific runs, correct? As much as I hate to say it, it does seem possible the line's owner and operator could mutually agree neither is willing to invest in the clean up because present operations don't warrant doing so. Many shortlines in the Northeast suffered a similar fate after Hurricane Agnes in 1972.
