Looking from the outside in, I sometimes question the decision making in car routing as it seems to be contributing factor to yard congestion. Our feed mill is located on the Bellingham Sub mainline north of Everett. For years our cars from the Midwest would come, usually via the MRL to Spokane, where they would be added to the daily Spokane/Everett freight. Brought straight into Everett, they were taken north to us by the twice a week Conway Turn. A very direct way of doing things. These days, more often than not, our cars by-pass Spokane, go to Pasco, are reclassified, up the Gorge, north to Interbay, reclassified, north to Everett, reclassified, north to Burlington, reclassified then brought back to us at Conway.
There must be a logical reason for this change....right?
