The railroad that ran along the Pit River was the Sacramento Valley and Eastern and was standard guage. SV&E's 2-6-2t No. 2 was recently brought back to northern CA a few years ago by the Shasta Cascade Rail Preservation Society. The railroad ran to a town known as DeLamar, with the connection with the SP at Pitt. From there a 30" mine railroad ran between the mine at Bully Hill and down to the smelter at DeLamar. The 30" mine railroad used a small shay for their operation.
