That lake is lower than I had envisioned.
Gary, that road you were on was U.S. Hwy 99 before the dam. I don't know how far you can drive it because I've never been on it when the lake was that low. If you can keep driving on it downriver it will (used to) cross the Sacramento near the mouth of Salt Creek. By the way, did you notice the highway bridges that had an extension built on top of the old bridge?
This tunnel is a few miles upstream from the tunnels 4 and 5 that are on the maps I have. The 4 and 5 are what is marked on the map. I can't get anything to match up with that and a current timetable. I'm wondering if they renumbered all of the tunnels above Lakehead?
Does that tunnel have any kind of blockage to keep boaters from going through it?
