So let me get this right....?
A lawless Kleptocratic former KGB agent who runs Russia has been using large scale social media platforms to project "fake news", what in my day they used to call "propaganda", in our largely free and open western societies, based on the rule of law, with freedom of expression, to influence the gullible.....
So we should, therefore, renounce our freedom of expression and personal liberty to the "state", to prevent this from happening....?
Clem and his boss the Governor probably don't like the way I have been treating the sacred High Speed Rail Authority, spreading my "obviously uninformed" and willful "fake news" about why this project is such a boondoggle which meets none of California's real transportation deficiencies.....?
So, obviously, the solution is not cogent or well reasoned response, even if I'm completely wrong, but rather, that such critics must be either silenced and/or censored by "appropriate" authorities.
Or maybe, it's the giant Cheeto, who doesn't like being accused by the media, or late night comedians, or the hosts of dozens of on-line blogs of a lawyer who is likely laundering money from unknown sources in order to pay off porn stars for non-disclosure....?
So why not that media, why is the internet or a blog any different, shouldn't those vile critics spreading "fake news" must be silenced, too......
I'm old enough to just love it, at times like this in history, when the usual totally clueless, and/or serving idiots, and/or wannabee autocratic a$$wholes, often from the most bizarre ideological fringes, in the most bizarre ideological alliances, agree to "drink this kind of Nazi/Soviet brand of Koolade" and finally come around full circle to meet up.....in their usual visionary version of the "ideal" totalitarian "nirvana"........
These are the kind of like the rules they already have in places like Russia, China, North Korea, Iran, or Syria to make sure that autocratic folks like our old pal "Vladimir" don't have any "bad PR" to deal with....
So which of the Neo Stalinist apparachik's in this new "politburo" we now call our State Legislature have decided that the First Amendment of the United States Constitution, either does not, or somehow should not, apply to Mr. Curlee and his electronic "newspaper", or with his hosting on-line free speech?
