Given the de facto cancellation of HSR outside the Central Valley, what segment will specifically be completed under a Plan B? A lot of general statements say it will be Merced-Bakersfield, but from what I hear, there is little actual construction outside Fresno County. Does anyone have an idea of what segments are actually under contract, which might be canceled under the current funding, how and where connections with BNSF would be made, and when this could be completed? For instance, would there be a new station in Bakersfield, or would trains go back to BNSF north of there?
