Of course this has nothing to do with anything... The before and after delays to the cars, or the increased fuel use and emissions, or the time costs. You have to run an awful lot of full buses, and they won't on any of these routs.
This also has nothing to do with the nonsense you cited, to enlighten me, either.
Yes, better stop spacing does affect performance and if done properly can improve average bus speed by hopefully consolidating and speeding up boarding and alighting. I've also done that "time and motion" work as part of the study I did on bus lanes. And, more larger doors, and lower floors, and easier fare media transactions, and sufficient bus aisles space, all can improve speeds from boarding and alighting delay, at least marginally.
The lanes themselves, except in some special circumstances, where you can have egress and exit from separated areas for boarding and alighting, which allow the buses to re-enter traffic, showed NO EFFECT on bus operational or traveler speeds, compared to that same bus running with the flow of traffic on a street like Colorado through Eagle Rock.
Showing a source is a nice touch though, even if the citation had nothing to do with the actual issue it was cited to make the case for...taking away traffic lanes to somehow improve bus performance with an exclusive "bus only" lane. But, I do encourage, folks to do research and use footnotes, when I teach the classes.

So how many of these "road diet" meetings have you been to with these "true believers" from the Complete Streets "movement" who are promoting this happy horseshit....? What do you know of their background and efforts?
They offer up a fringe analysis, based upon the underlying thesis, that people travel too much, and if we create more congestion on purpose, people will drive those evil cars less. And, this is actually "TRUE".
This is, of course, because they will have made congestion so bad, that unless we figure out a way to make days longer, you can't drive as much, in the available travel time budget you have in your life to get the things you travel for done. Because you are siting in even more traffic congestion, wasting your life, with your thumb up your a$$. And, ain't that a great public policy from your local elected leaders?
