I work, and live by Nordhoff Street in the SFV where they want the line. The street is three lanes, one of them no parking 7-9am, 4-7pm. Around Cal State Northridge and at Reseda Blvd, the traffic comes to a stand still due to congestion, and very bad stop light timing.
No amount of busses will cure this. CSUN is a commuter school, 40,000 students this year, all coming and going. 5,000 staff and faculty. Tons of apartments around. Common sense tells you the bus line will not work out through here.
The other item that is not mentioned is the locals fear (rightly so) that development of high rise apartments along the route will destroy the neighborhood.
If, Big IF they insist on doing this folly, they should get the line as a monorail system, with limited stops, so it does not poke along like the Las Vegas one.
Makes no difference anymore, they won't get it through their heads, people like cars.
