On the other hand, we're entitled to draw tentative conclusions from the facts at hand. The train involved was 3 cars with something like 15 passengers. There had been a terminal brake test and presumably OK service applications before Rialto. A commenter on another forum said it should have been possible for a 3-car Metrolink to stop just fine using just the locomotive brakes. I'm a little puzzled that there are folks who urge us not to use our common sense -- I'm not sure if these folks are still asking us to give Ricky the benefit of the doubt over texting.
