From the Trainews I see where they plan to get the money to repair the tunnels. The paper said the port is going to use money authorized for dredging the shipping channel.
“The dredging won’t do much good without a railroad,” he said.
The 120-mile line from Eugene to Coos Bay will need at least $9 million to $10 million in repairs before rail traffic can resume, officials said. The thinking is that once the railroad is in good shape, the Legislature could approve additional funds for the channel deepening, Roblan said.
