I have been following the Nevada Norther off and on for quite a while now. I made friends with a few employees while on a tour there. It was a great place in 2006 when I first visited. I was there during the photo shoots last weekend observing and was astonished by the changes, for the worse. What has happened in the last 3 years? I questioned my friend Jeremy who sent me this...
Dear Railfans and Railroaders
There is a disturbing event that has recently occurred. The website RYPN has been blocking, removing, and even slandering through personal emails the current postings on the condition of Nevada Northern 93. Many concerned railfans have been questing 93's condition as well as causes for 93's failure. Also questioned is the cause of the last two years' photo-shoot failures. People with first hand knowledge of the situation commented. Some of the posts were removed. Now, the topic has been blocked from any posting. I find this quite interesting as Mr. Bassett, executive director of the Nevada Northern Railway, sits on the board for RYPN. He has used his power and leverage to stop the truth from being told on the Nevada Northern's current condition.
He reminded me too keep an open mind and get the other side of the story. I can not seem to find it. Mark Bassett is virtually unreachable. The people I spoke with last weekend all were a little disgruntled and chased me away. Probably for good. Does any one know the other side of the story? Will the NN Railway ever have steam again?
