Milton was an interesting character no doubt. I was firing the 40 when we missed him by about 3 feet as he crossed in front of us. Scared the crap out of me, scared the crap out of all of us! A veteran railroader with a HUGE lack of respect for safety, wow. Granted he was knowledgeable in his endeavors but the NN lost a truck from his "mistakes" years earlier. Jason, RFE, who was our our brakeman and Chris, Shop Foreman and engineer for the evening, were the ones who promptly informed Milton to shape up or ship out. Safety of everyone was a priority and Milton blatantly violated that on several occasions while I was there. Don't get me wrong, I like Milton and thought he was a great guy. Just unsafe. He never returned to volunteer on his own accord from what I recall.
