I get started on this & find it interesting...that Ten-Wheeler that I mentioned earlier was
2349 and was used @ Exeter in December, 1956. Also used quite late in steam was Mogul 1726
on the Friant Branch in September and possibly into October, '56. Well chronicled were the commutes, of course with the final steam powered one coming in January, 1957. Then there were a number of memorable excursions with the likes of 1744, 4460, 4274, 2728, etc.
Ken Stattock was around for some of these, I sure wasn't.
