In the latter part of Jan.1950 I was working on a cattle ranch north Weed Ca. when I saw a S P passenger train headed north with an engine painted in daylight colors.I will never forget that sight as it was colder than the @#$%& with snow on the ground.This was in the area of the old Siskiyo line that was straighter than string fron there there up to Montague so the engineer was really pouring the coal to the engine as as it leaving a cloud of smoke the full length of the train
