You may be surprised to find that Signor's book might be available at your local library. But, if you choose to buy it, plan on spending more than $50.

Many libraries now have electronic databases that combine collections for wide lending. Where I live in central California, we have the ValleyCat...I can look up and check out books held at locations spanning five or six counties, I believe. I can be in Tehachapi and order a book that's up in Stockton- over 240 miles away! They route the book to my local branch.

Well, that's my bit for a Public Service Announcement...the library- Check it out!

By the way, his excellent research, combined with very talented hand-drawn cartography is inspiring to both the researcher or casual reader. Also, all of his books that I've read so far are further matched with high quality, relevant pictures from talented railfan photographers and company photographs as well.
