Mr. Buxton brought up the subject of BNSF's street-running in Renton. Sorry, no turnouts.

Once upon a time, this was the Pacific Coast Coal Company, Black Diamond to the Seattle Waterfront. When ships were fired by coal.

The Milwaukee Road obtained trackage rights in from Maple Valley. A substation building and the depot survive. The latter served the Spirit of Washington Dinner Train.

BN bought the street line to connect with the NP to Canada, via Boeing's 737 Plant.
About two fuselages from Wichita a day.

BNSF has recently upgraded the line to Boeing. Several bridges, including one with low clearance for motor vehicles. The predecessor had really low vertical and horizontal clearances. Would like to see photos.
