The closest thing to working Marxism is in the typical well functioning family household. The one most well adjusted young people are so happy to get out of when they graduate. The matriarch and or patriarch of the household controls the wealth, give a small allowance based on household contributions. They also control what you eat, where you go, and what time you go to bed. By this logic, these young Marxists in America are the types of people who would live in their parents basement all their lives. As single parent households become more common, and more families become fractured, work longer hours, and children have less time with their parents, these young people look to the government to fill this void. Combine that with the fact that many of our school teachers grew up in the sixties and many more teachers being the offspring of the hippie culture, it’s not hard to see why our youth is falling for the aloure of Marxism -- igropeyourmommy
I live in NYC where the left control everything with their socialist propaganda. We're seeing the beginning of what happened in Venezuela. We have very slow economic growth in my opinion almost none. Entrepreneururoship is getting harder and harder. And many have become so dependent on the government that they don't want to work. They want the government to give them everything. I can somewhat agree with you that Venezuela is not a socialist country but it's run by a very evil socialist government. Socialism just doesn't work brother. -- Popeye

I do wish the left would educate themselves a little more about who Marx actually was. Did he feel compassion for the working people? He never had a job in labor himself. He didn't hang out with miners or farmers or factory workers. Did he ever visit factories and make sure they had safe working conditions? No. Did he go to the coal mines and chat with the miners? Did he have some friends who were stone masons? Of course not. So how could he have developed any compassion for the lower classes? It's not like he baked cookies for the street sweepers. He had a housemaid who got pregnant (probably by Marx himself.) He didn't support her or her child. Is this the behavior of someone who loved the working people?
It is ironic that the guy who hated capitalism was eager to have a capitalist helping him.
It is really weird that Marxists see themselves as caring about people and their well being considering the fact that Marxist nations had the most ruthlessly cruel regimes that ever existed. Ask someone who lived in a communist country if they felt like their government cared about them. Marxist governments treated their people like their enemies, constantly spying on them, arresting them for doing something as innocent as telling a joke about politicians, imprisoning 2% of the population in Gulags. Would Karl Marx have approved of the violence of the Marxist governments? He certainly would have. He said that the revolution must be violent, and it was.
People should not treat old Karl like a loving Grandpa. Look at all the bloodshed he caused. Everyone recognizes the evil of Nazism, but not so many are aware of the equally deadly effects of Marxism. It plunged the world into a darkness from which we are only slowly recovering. It is shocking that people would look at this evil and call it good. But that is what modern left-wing radicals do. I remember seeing members of the student Marxist/Leninist group on my university campus. Now we see members of ANTIFA proudly carrying the hammer and sickle flag. Students love to wear Che Guevarra t-shirts because they think he was some kind of people's hero. They don't know that he loved to watch firing squads executing people, and that he hated homosexuals (not exactly a left wing position.) -- Jonathan Lewis
