Heck no. I once started watching a video you posted and stopped watching before it was over. After that I have not watched any of your videos. Just because someone says something on a video, it is not necessarily true. Anyone can say anything in a video.

> It's frustrating for me to furnish you with these links and then you don't bother to watch > them because they're bringing you a message you don't want to recognize.

I don't have the time to watch the videos you post. Maybe if you post links to articles from centrist sources, I will read those.

That said, I am glad to frustrate you.

>None are so blind as those who will not see.

That describes you very well.

>> I live in a city with two large universities and several smaller universities.

>Gee, I wonder if there are any conservatives in that city.

Yes, there are conservatives in the city where I live as well as the city where I used to live and many that I visit. The presence of institutions of higher education in an urban area does not imply an absence of conservatives, just like there are centrists and liberals in West Virginia.

>> The universities produce civil engineers, computer engineers, historians, nurses, doctors, medical researchers, urban affairs specialists, and political scientists. Sometimes I am a guest lecturer at these universities and at other times I listen to and critique student presentations. On Monday, I listened to a defense of a PhD dissertation. In 20+ years of doing this, I've never encountered a professor or a student who was communist.

>Do you think there's some law somewhere that says they have to announce it to you? I guess >you just haven't been looking in the right places:

A dumb patronizing question not worthy of a response.

>> Public libraries

>>Yeah, without taxpayer-subsidized public libraries, where else would "Drag Queen Story > Hour" be able to conduct their performances?

>> As a son of a librarian and as someone who worked for a few months in a library and as one who has visited libraries all over the United States (New York, Cleveland, Los Angeles, Pittsburgh, Salt Lake City, Erie, Scranton, Pittsburgh and Homestead PA) . . .

>Blah Blah Blah. I guess we're supposed to be impressed.

Your reply demonstrates that based on my life experiences, I know FAR more about libraries than you ever will.

>> I can only respond that's a silly characterization of libraries.

> You might want to casually dismiss it as "silly", but, as the media articles I submitted > attest, it is FACTUAL. Explain to me why taxpayer-subsidized public libraries, on more > occasions than I can count, continuously host "Drag Queen Story Hour" presentations where > performers, some with criminal records for sexual misconduct, are interacting, sometimes > physically, with small children. This oughtta be good. I'll wait.

Your commentary implies that drag queen performances are a defining feature of libraries. THEY ARE NOT. In all of the time I've spent in public libraries I have never been in one where such a performance was occurring, nor have I ever seen a flyer announcing such an event in a public library.

You know where I have seen a drag queen performance? On a public street closed to traffic for a community festival. While there are lots of things I strongly despise about infrastructure built for automobiles, I am not going to cite a drag queen performance to bash such infrastructure (and associated policies), because a drag queen performance is not a defining feature of streets, roads, bridges and highways. Get my point?

Drag queen performances are not my thing, but I watched it, was mildly amused, and then moved on. I pretty much forgot about it until your post.

>> Libraries are places to access books, newspapers, magazines (including rail hobby publications), videos, music and historic photos.

> And they're also being used to groom and indoctrinate young children.

Yes, to read and learn about nature, history, science, their communities and other people.

>> The Milwaukee Road archives are located in the Milwaukee Public Library. However you are >> so obsessed with drag queens and gay and lesbian people, it's apparent that Milwaukee
>> Road archives are of no interest to you.

> You don't know my degree of interest in the Milwaukee Road so it baffles me as to why > you're even bringing it up.

Why would that baffle you? This is a railroad forum. When you bash libraries, of course I'm going to bring up railroad information available at libraries as you don't seem to be aware or care that libraries are great resources for railroad history.

Additionally, in another internet railroad forum, one of the members regularly posted very interesting photos he found in the collection of the Denver Public Library.

> Now the burden is on you to explain why drag shows are taking place in taxpayer supported > public libraries. Thus far, you've sidestepped that task.

I'm not going to engage with you in that discussion because:
1) It's not central to libraries and their mission
2) I've never seen any evidence that such performances take place despite all of the time I've spent in my home city library and in other libraries that I've visited.
3)You've demonstrated time and time again your bigotry towards GLBTQ persons and many other types of people.

>> State Parks (Valley of Fire (NV) and Letchworth (NY) state parks are true gems

>> Only until the first fiscal crisis comes along and then their funding is slashed.

> Letchworth State Park has been around for over 100 years. It was a gem all through the years and remains a gem to this day. Government has not screwed it up.

>If government operation is so wonderful, why are private companies like Xanterra and >Deleware North called on to perform functions? Maybe you can address that in your next ?? >response because you ignored it the last time I asked.

Xanterra and DelAware North operate concessions within parks. That seems to be a common practice. Other aspects of parks are managed by the public sector.

>> Your replies, particularly the one about libraries, are indicative of someone who does not get out in the real world. Try watching fewer right-wing videos and go to a public library.

> You're sidestepping the issue and doing your best to pivot. Once again, explain to me why > drag shows are taking place in front of young children at taxpayer supported public > libraries. Perhaps Ron DeSantis and parents have a valid concern.

Interesting you bring up DeSantis. Apparently Disney must have hurt his feelings as he just signed legislation which would essentially take away many of the service functions provided by Disney and force them onto the counties and municipal government where Disney World is located. That's a bizzarely ironic outcome for DeSantis, a Republican, whose party believes that the private sector can perform better than the public sector. With so many folks of a certain outlook on politics and cultural issues promising to boycott, Disney, he should have left things alone. Oh yeah, while not a park in the traditional sense, it is a major attraction drawing a huge number of visitors like many national and state parks.

Lastly, gun violence is the leading cause of death among children and teens 1 - 19.

Gun Violence Prevention

For anyone who cares about children, the proliferation of firearms throughout the United States should be the focus, not drag queen shows.
